Heist is a crime-inspired 5-reel, max 30-line pay line with a '3D' appeal from Betsoft. The theme of the game revolves around a bank job - not the kind of job that certain city bankers use to make millions, but the kind of job criminals like to pull in order to line their own pockets with lots of lovely cash.
The symbols in this fast-paced game are all images associated with bank heists, and when you manage to secure a winning line they are all beautifully animated. The playing screen is set up as a bank of TV monitors relaying images from surveillance cameras, and the bonus games (see below) are all beautifully animated as well.
You can select from between one and thirty lines to have in play, and you can choose your coin size from 0.05 to 1.00. Once you've chosen how much you want to gamble, hit the spin button and the reels will start rolling. To secure a win all you need to do is land at least three of the same symbol in sequence on an active payline from the left-hand reel.
Payout & bonus rounds
Payout range from x5 your bet-per-line for three keypad or stopwatch symbols, to x60 for five symbols of Neil, the game's main character or 'Detective Albert' brandishing a shotgun.
There are three bonus features:
- Land three or more glass cutter symbols anywhere on an active payline to receive the 'glass cutter' bonus. Choose one of the symbols, behind which will be revealed a instant prize, free spins, a free bonus credit win or instant access to the main bonus game.
- If you land the 'x2 wild' symbol slap bang in the middle of the reels it will explode and become a x2 wild symbol. If this triggers a win it'll be paid at double the normal rate, plus randomly the symbol will stick for one further spin.
- The 'drill' symbol acts as the scatter symbol and at least three anywhere on the reels pays a bonus up to 1,500x.
- The main bonus feature is triggered if you land three or more bank vault symbols. The bank vault flies open, and you - as Neil - must grab as much cash as you can. You're warned once the shotgun-totting Albert is on the way, but you can stay as long stuffing your pockets as you dare. If you get caught - tough!
Heist really is a great game and deserves its place as one of Betsoft's most popular slots. It's certainly a more legitimate way of expanding your own bank account than pulling a heist of your own.
